Simon Weston OBE says Thank You

Andrew Gidden, founder of Red Lion Foods and Jim Brisby of Cranswick plc received a picture from Simon Weston OBE, patron of the Falklands Veterans Foundation in thanks for Red Lion Foods’ sponsorship of Liberty Lodge in the Falkland Islands. The Lodge was built as a place for veterans and their families to stay when visiting the Falkland Islands and Red Lion Foods donated a considerable sum to enable the Lodge to be built.

Andrew and Jim were attending the Union Jack Club’s 30th anniversary lunch, celebrating the end of the Falkland Islands war in 1982. Red Lion Foods also presented the Union Jack Club with Falkland Islands lamb that been specially shipped to UK.

Andrew Gidden has recently returned from a visit to the Falkland Islands with chef Phil Vickery. Among other activities, Phil cooked for some veterans and they discovered some mouth-watering food in the Falkland Islands. You will see and hear more about that exciting trip soon.
